A Lincoln man faces a rare pair of charges; 58-year-old Terry Kurtzhals was arrested for illegal voting and criminal impersonation.Kurtzhals had been released from prison on January 1st, after serving time for possession of burglar’s tools. State law says a felon can't vote until two years after his or her release from prison. Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood reported that the Lancaster County Election office confirmed Kurtzhals did vote.
Flood also said that police had been investigating Kurtzhals for impersonating a funeral director. Kurtzhals allegedly went to a local funeral home and claimed to represent a deceased woman. He requested a casket for the woman and wanted her rings. Flood said they later found out Kurtzhals had given the deceased woman the engagement rings. In fact, Kurtzhals had been a funeral director at one time, but had his license revoked in 1996.
Kurtzhals is lodged in the Lancaster County Jail.
